Rotary Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange provides thousands of young people with the opportunity to meet people from other countries and to experience their cultures, thus promoting international understanding and peace.

The purpose of the Rotary Youth Exchange program is to build bridges of friendship and understanding among the peoples of the world. We accomplish this by allowing high school students to live for a year in a foreign country, assimilating their host country's culture and language, and being ambassadors of goodwill while they are there. The students live with one or more appropriate host families, sharing in the life and love of each family, and attending high school or other pre-university schooling. As these student share of themselves and of their lives and experiences at home, the hosts develop bonds of friendship with these young ambassadors, and thereby with the people of the students' home countries.

Parents and guardians can be assured that Rotary is committed to maintaining a safe environment through policies designed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all participants in the programs.

Each year, worldwide, over 7000 young people enjoy the experience of a lifetime through Rotary Youth Exchange.

We were honored with a visit by Nabilah Noorani, a Rotary Exchange Student from India who is sponsored by Port St. Lucie Rotary and Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary. Nabilah spoke eloquently about her stay, including things that were firsts for her, such as spring break, flag football, and Key West.
